Investiture Ceremony

“Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another” – John Maxwell
The Investiture Ceremony of our school’s student council for this academic session was conducted on 27th April 2023 and 28th April 2023 respectively for both the primary and secondary side with great dignity and passion. The entire event was a treat to the eyes as the erstwhile leaders meticulously handed over their prestigious badges and the flags to the newly elected members of the student council to carry on the legacy. And donning the mantle of responsibility and accountability, these vibrant, enthusiastic and young leaders were equally graceful while accepting the role and responsibility and took the pledge to bestow their duties assigned to them to the best of their abilities. The stage was decorated ceremoniously for welcoming the new leaders and the young Josephites looked extremely proud and confident while being officially conferred with the badge and the sash by our honourable Principal. The newly elected head girl took the pledge there by affirming to hold the value and motto of our School which says ‘Virtue Alone Ennobles', while the head boy presented the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude towards each and everyone for placing their faith and trust in his capability as a leader.
The Investiture Ceremony is not just a day of a school event. It is infact a red letter day in every school calendar because this ceremony marks the emergence of the future leaders of our country. The seeds of the leadership skills are sowed in the fertile ground of one's Alma Mater.
In her congratulatory message for the new leaders, our honourable Principal advised them to be truthful, honest and impartial while discharging their duties. She also reminded them to become role models for other students as many students, especially the juniors would look up to them and strive to become like them some day. She encouraged them to lead by example because they would be leading the school in different scholastic and co scholastic activities throughout the session. Therefore it was not just a title or a badge that was conferred to them, but in the form of the badge and the title was the reliance and confidence of the entire school that was handed over to them. There are three essentials to Leadership – Humility, Clarity and Courage. Thankfully our newly elected leaders are bestowed with all the three essentials.
This short but prestigious Program was concluded with our melodious and very apt school anthem.
