To pay homage to this amazing soul, our school too celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on May 8th 2023. In front of the main lobby, a life size portrait was placed and the program started with the lighting of the lamp and offering of flowers to Viswakabi by our honorable Principal. At the same time the opening song written by Rabindranath was sung by students which was followed by a dance. Throughout the day some of the most memorable songs of Kobi Guru were played through the intercom. The programme ended with invoking of God’s blessings on one and all. The short programme made the students feel that Rabindranath is still very much alive in the lives of the Bengalis. One of the greatest revolutionaries, India has ever produced, Rabindranath was also an educationist, who wanted to restructure the education system in India, and this great vision of his led to the foundation of Shantiniketan – a learning hub to provide education to one and all and later this became the renowned Viswa Bharti University. He was the first Non-European, who received the Nobel Prize in the year of 1913 for his collection of poetry named 'Gitanjali', which was a big achievement for India and an Indian.
