Republic Day

“It is the love of country that keeps glowing the holy fire of patriotism ”
Republic day marks the adoption of the constitution of India and the transition of the country to a Republic on January 26th 1950. January 26 is celebrated as Republic day every year in India with great fervor and much enthusiasm. This year we are celebrating the 75th Republic day. It is the day when the constitution of India was adopted in 1950 after attaining the much awaited independence on August 15, 1947. This day reminds us of our struggle for freedom and how the great leaders and freedom fighters fought and sacrificed their lives to give us the gift of this day. The citizens of our country today have the privilege of enjoying various rights like Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights and Right to Constitutional Remedies and for this gift of Constitution we Indians will forever remain grateful to the members of the drafting committee headed by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, who played a significant role in formulating and framing the Indian Constitution. To commemorate the birth of the Indian Republic, the students of our school, under the able guidance of our Revered Principal Sr. Asha and the Teachers, put up a short program on the occasion of Republic day that reflected their patriotic spirit and love towards the country. The program presented by the Josephites exhibited the importance of our commitment to unity and diversity and fraternity and equality among all our citizens.
