Anticipatory Earth Day (20th April 2018)

Students o class VI-(A, B, C) organised a special assembly on Friday, 20th April 2018 in anticipation of Earth Day. The purpose of this assembly was to drive across a message to the students about the need to protect our planet. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on 22nd April every year worldwide. In the assembly the young students highlighted the significance and importance of earth day. The main attraction of the programme was the Skit performed by the little ones. The skit illustrated how the needs of the human beings had increased and in order to fulfil these needs how they are mercilessly depleting the earth‘s resources. The message was, ‘we must keep our mother earth green like it has always been’. The point was further elaborated through the earth day anthem, sung by the tiny tots, that even a small endeavour could go a long way in saving our planet from disaster. The assembly concluded with the Principal’s speech.
Other exciting activities planned for this day after the assembly were a rally-organised by the senior students- with captions and slogans like- “save today, survive tomorrow”, “say no to plastic”, etc, and a cleanliness drive “Clean Green Campus” by the juniors. The purpose of these activities was to remind the students of their responsibility towards mother Earth.
