Science Scape - Power to Empower (15th December 2018)

“Imagination is more important than knowledge”

The academic session 2018-19 witnessed a gala event in the form of a massive science exhibition titled-“Science Scape -Power to Empower” on 15th of December 2018.It was organised with a view to boost scientific temper among students. The students from class VI-XII showcased their talents in Science, Mathematics, Computer and Social Science. The day began with a short inaugural programme .The Chief Guest of the day CMO Dr.Alok Majumdar and Guest of Honour Mr.R.P.Bharti DGM, CRJ and other dignitaries were accorded a warm traditional welcome by our honourable Principal Dr. Sr. Shwetha and Vice Principal Sr. Carol. The Chief Guest then declared the exhibition open. There was an interesting line up of events that were to follow. Distinct venues were allotted for the different subjects for the display of the models made by our talented students.

The entire school was abuzz with creative activity and one could feel the magnitude and pulse of the event as a sea of crowd (dignitaries, guests & parents,) visited different rooms to see the display of various models. Many days’ hard work was finally displayed and the students zealously explained to every passing onlooker details of their still and working models. The theme “Power to Empower” was innovatively brought out in projects like –Renewable Resources of Energy, Magnetic Levitation, Hydroelectricity, Power transmission, Autogenesis-Origin of Universe, Time line of Physics-ISRO’s contribution, LED Illusion,Smart City-a hi-tech city, Models depicting Renewal of life with chemicals, Human anatomy and Geometric city-made up of three dimensional shapes.

The logo “Science Scape-Power to Empower” was a model in itself which was put up at the lobby. It displayed stunning creativity of our students. Every successful scientist has at least one mentor to give advice and answer queries .Our little scientists of tomorrow too had their mentors in the form of their teachers to provide them with necessary guidelines and structural support to complete their models successfully. A total number of 500 students from VI-XII took part in the exhibition. The event provided a platform for our budding scientists. The exhibition that started sharp at 8 in the morning concluded at 4 in the evening.Enthuisiasm and effervescence that flowed among the, guests parents, teachers and students, proved the huge success of this mega event. Both participants and winners were applauded for their commendable job. They will be rewarded with mementos and certificates in the days to come. This memorable exhibition was possible only because of our honourable Principal who put her first foot forward as the Head of the Institution. The members of the Science Committee, Teaching and Non Teaching members put in their best efforts to make this happen with human resources of our children that added a feather in the cap of St’ Joseph’s convent.
