International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8th to commemorate the efforts and achievement of women in all aspects of life. The theme chosen this year for the International Women’s Day is – “ Invest in Women- Accelerate Progress”.
What began once as National Women’s Day in the United States back in February 1909, became a globally recognized event celebrated in the honour of women from all over the world, when in the following year, at the second International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen, Denmark, women’s rights activist Clara Zetkin called for an international women’s day to give women a greater voice to further their demands for equal rights.
Following the tradition our school also celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8th with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The short program which was prepared by the gents teacher was truly amazing and quite unique. It was a tribute to all the women for their immense contribution in every walk of life and at the same time through this program they expressed their heartfelt gratitude and respect for all the lady staff. Sr. Principal expressed her feelings through a heart touching speech where she presented her thoughts on the contribution of the ladies in the development of family, society and the nation. She also thanked the gents staff for their beautiful endeavor.
